A Night with Dhala Kulture
As the title suggests...  This is a night with Dhala Kulture better known by their individual names: NISKERONE & SFR. NISKERONE Currently known as the "the man behind It Came From The Jungle" (BPM Mag), "king of the underground Drum & Bass jungle" (Cape Argus) and "Cape Town's Drum & Bass stalwart" (Mixmag), Niskerone's past has seen him hold residencies at leading clubs such as Stones, Babbaloos and Black Sheep. The combination of wicked DJ skills and an extensive knowledge of the genre led him to host a radio show on UCT Radio for two years alongside internationally recognised artist, SFR. This stint was followed by another year at Mutha FM co-hosting a show with South African DnB ambassadors, Counterstrike. Niskerone's career took a massive leap when he was offered a permanent residency at the legendary haven for quality underground music, Fiction DJ Bar. Thus, It Came From The Jungle was born. The brand night took Cape Town's clubbing scene to a new level and rose to become South Africa's biggest weekly Drum & Bass night. As the night gained popularity, so too did the DJ at its helm. With two Mixed CD Releases and a host of Podcast Mixes under his belt, Niskerone's energetic and innovative style of mixing has won the souls of many dancefloors as well as obtaining him slots alongside international greats such as Pendulum, Drumsound, Pascal, Raiden, Danny Wheeler, Nymfo, Break, Trei, Temper D, TKO & Miss Wendy and even an impromtu back to back with Holland's Mr “Let The Bass Kick”, DJ Chuckie. He has since toured Belgium, Holland, Germany, Spain and Sweden, playing at some of Europe's best regarded clubs including Spain's oldest nightclub, Florida 135 (est. 1942 and ranked among DJ Mag’s Top 100 Club Poll). In South Africa aside from the numerous club bookings, Niskerone has graced the stages of festivals such as RAM Fest, Synergy Live, Oppikoppi, OBZ Fest, Lucky Fish, Cape Town Festival, Earthdance, a headline slot at last years Rezonance Festival as well as headline at New Years Revolutions three years running! SFR Recently signed to LOAD Recordings, Zombie Recordings and one of the worlds most respected drum and bass labels, Trouble on Vinyl. SFR aka Julian Joseph’s tracks have received love from some of the most well respected deejays around the globe. This bright South African Talent has developed a fresh and funky outlook on drum and bass, and has opened a new insight to the way the rainbow nation is depicted on the drum and bass map. SFR not only delivers in the studio, his talent carries over to the decks with his exceptional crowd control and ability to create dance floor momentum which evidently won him the 2006 True Playaz mix contest. Having held the fort alongside some of the scene’s most respected DJ’s, and successfully performing all around his home country, as well as England, France, Belgium, Germany and Sweden, he is clearly a force to be reckoned with.
